CASA DI GESSO

The old and unfinished house, left for me by my father is a space to restart with, a refuge to hide myself from routine life, a space to admire the nature faraway.
The project is about a renovation of an existing loft in Gissi, Abruzzo (Italy) left rough, during the 1970s.
The design wants to start from the geometrical space emphasizing the volumes excavating the surface getting two niches getting two little space.
The big central windows and the terrace in Majella stone, represent the fulcrum of the entire design, maintaining a continue dialogue between the interior space and the hillside and sea faraway.
The entire floor have been realized in concrete surface with Majella black stone inserts, thoughts as a carpet where you can walk barefoot and enjoy the rough surface.
The interior design is a mix of products selection coming from the local crafts from of the 1930s and some new design furniture as the stools, kitchen cabinet and some shelves with the purpose to make a soft addiction in a sense of continuity with the interior atmosphere.
